Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 3-14 years of either gender. 2. American Society of Anesthesiologist status 1 and 2 3.Patients scheduled to undergo elective surgeries under general anesthesia lasting 60-180 min

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Refusal of parents/ guardians for taking part in the study 2.Patients with hearing impairment 3.Patients with any neurological disorders 4.Patients with neurodevelopmental anomalies 5.Surgical duration 180 min 6.Children undergoing emergency procedures

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To study the effect of intraoperative music therapy on sAA levels in pediatric patients undergoing elective surgeries.Timepoint: just before extubation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.To study the effect of intraoperative music therapy on peri-operative characteristics in pediatric patients undergoing elective surgeries. 2. To study the effect of music on post operative pain. Timepoint: Heart rate, Systolic Blood Pressure, Diastolic Blood Pressure, State entropy and Response Entropy will be noted at every 10 min from start of anesthesia till the end of anesthesia. Pain scores will be noted at 0 min, 30 min, 60 min, 3 hrs, 6 hrs, 12 hrs and 24 hrs after the surgery ends.
