Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Cases fulfilling the diagnostic criteria for alcohol dependence according to ICD 10 Diagnostic criteria. 2. Cases in the age group of 18 to 60 years of both the gender. 3. Score more than or equal to 8 in Insomnia Severity Index.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Cases with life threatening conditions. 2. Cases with CIWA- Ar score more than 10. 3. Cases diagnosed with other types of insomnia. 4. Cases already under psychiatric medication for insomnia. 5. Cases with co morbid psychiatric conditions. 6. Pregnant and lactating females.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Outcome will be measured by changes in Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) every month.Timepoint: Every month from baseline till the conclusion of the study (12th month)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Outcome will be measured by changes in Severity of Alcohol Dependence Questionnaire (SADQ) every month.Timepoint: Every month from baseline till the conclusion of the study (12th month);Outcome will be measured by changes in WHO- QOL BREF scale at baseline and at the end of the study.Timepoint: At the baseline and at the end of the study
