Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects between 25-60 years fulfilling the following criteria will be included in the study irrespective of sex, race, religion, education, and occupation. The subjects diagnosed as per the DSM V criteria for Major Depressive Disorder and exhibit symptoms of Kaphaja unmada. The subjects or the guardians having ability to read/understand and sign informed consent form. The subjects who are willing to comply with the study protocol.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with symptoms or having the history of following clinical condition will be excluded. Depression with comorbid serious somatic illness, e.g., myocardial infarction, multiple sclerosis, cerebral stroke, hypothyroidism and carcinoma, etc. Drug or alcohol dependence related Depression Antenatal Depression, Post Partum depression, Postnatal depression, etc. Depression with psychotic symptoms e.g., delusion or hallucinations, incoherence, marked loosening of association, formal thought disorder, etc. Subjects with other systemic illness such as history of uncontrolled Hypertension, Diabetic Mellitus, etc.
