Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All cases with type 2 diabetes mellitus above the age of 18 years and apparently healthy participants will be included in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: All participants with urinary tract infection, fever, steroid/nephrotoxic/SGLT2i medication users, non-diabetic kidney diseases, heart failure, chronic liver disease, pregnancy and any chronic inflammatory diseases are excluded from the study.

MeasureTime frame
a) To measure urinary level of C-megalin and adiponectin in T2DM patients and healthy participants, b) To find association of urinary C-megalin and adiponectin with urinary albumin to creatinine ratio (UACR)/albuminuria and eGFR in T2DM patients and healthy participants. We expect that urinary C-megalin and adiponectin concentration and excretion might be increased in DKD patients and used to identify them before advanced glomerular damage.Timepoint: 2 years

To find diagnostic accuracy of the urinary C-megalin and adiponectin for early detection of kidney disease in T2DM patients.We expect that urinary C-megalin and adiponectin concentration and excretion might be increased in DKD patients and used to identify them before advanced glomerular damage.Timepoint: 2 years
