Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adults aged greater or equal to 18 years of either gender 2. Patients who are diagnosed with Kp infection as their only active infective cause at the time of enrolment in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant and lactating women. 2. Patients with Kp isolated from urine(Non-complicated UTI). 3. Patients with paraquat poisoning. 4. Patients with solid tumours. 5. Patients who got discharged against medical advice . 6. Patients who are not willing to participate in the study

This study endeavors to identify and compare risk factors influencing adverse outcomes, such as prolonged hospital stays and mortality, in patients infected with classical Klebsiella pneumoniae (cKp) and hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae (HvKp) strains. By pinpointing specific elements linked to worse HvKp outcomes, the research provides insights into the development and progression of these infections. Furthermore, the study evaluates various treatment regimens for patients with resistant strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae (CR-Kp and CR-HvKp infections), aiming to uncover the most effective approaches and improve patient outcomes. Thorough follow-up studies over three months will contribute valuable data on relapse rates, guiding appropriate management strategies for HvKp infections.Timepoint: 03 years

The study aims to create a diagnostic scoring tool that integrates clinical, radiological, and biomarker-based information to differentiate Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae (HvKp) from other strains. This tool is designed to provide clinicians with a standardized method for prompt identification of potential hidden infection sites and guiding appropriate treatment decisions. Additionally, the research explores the potential of HIF-1a as a predictive biomarker for HvKp infections. By establishing a clinically significant cut-off value for serum HIF-1a, the goal is to enhance diagnostic accuracy, facilitating early detection and enabling targeted management strategies for HvKp infections.Timepoint: 03 years
