Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ? Age more than 65 years ? American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) classification I, II, III ? Patients undergoing elective lower limb orthopaedic surgeries.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Patients who refuse consent/lack the capacity to give consent 2 Patients with extremity amputation, paraplegia, or known neuromuscular diseases. 3 Patients undergoing emergency procedures

MeasureTime frame
oDetermine the proportion of frailty in elderly patients undergoing lower limb orthopaedic surgery using the Clinical Frailty Scale.Timepoint: PAC visit till date of discharge

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
o To correlate quadriceps muscle sarcopenia as assessed by point-of-care Ultrasonography with the Clinical Frailty Scale. o Compare the post-operative outcomes between frail and non-frail patients with regards to the post-operative complications, length of hospital stay and mortality. Timepoint: PAC visit till date of discharge
