Interventions

Intervention1: Kalonji will be powdered and mixed with Roghan Zaitoon.: Local application of oil over the scalp every alternate days as per requirement for a duration of 45 days. Control Intervention1

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Clinically diagnosed patients of DHL. Female patients of 18-50 years age. Patients with Hair Shedding Score greater than or equal to 5. Cases of DHL associated with stress of any kind such as postpartum, postoperative or post febrile, deficiency states such as iron deficiency and protein malnutrition. Patients who have agreed to sign the informed consent form and follow up during the protocol.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Female patients less than 18 yrs of age and greater than 50 yrs. Patients suffering from other scalp diseases like scalp psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, tinea capitis, alopecia areata, scarring alopecia, congenital alopecia, alopecia totalis, alopecia universalis and trichotillomania. Patients on systemic drugs like anticoagulants, immunosuppressants, and antithyroid drugs. Pregnant, lactating or postmenopausal women. Known cases of hypothyroidism. Patients on chemotherapy and radiotherapy. History of any treatment for hair loss within previous one month.
