Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients posted for elective Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (OPCAB) with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) > 40 %
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Combined valve and coronary surgery, onpump CABG, redo cardiac surgery, hyperlipidaemia, significant hepatic or renal dysfunction, uncontrolled hypertension, any disorder with immunological dysfunction (eg, malignancy or positive serological test for the HIV) in the last 6 months, preoperative treatment with nicorandil (an ATP-sensitive potassium channel opener), sulfonylurea (an ATP- sensitive potassium channel blocker)
