Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with Probing pocket depth greater than 6 mm and Clinical attachment loss of greater than 3 mm. Patients with 2 walled or 3 walled intrabony defects, with defect depth greater than 3 mm. Teeth to be used for preparation of Demineralized Dentine Bone Graft are those that have previously been indicated for extraction due to 1.Poor periodontal prognosis with grade III mobility, 2. Poor restorability due to extensive loss of coronal structure, that had been previously deemed as non-restorable, or 3. Third molar teeth, that have been diagnosed as requiring extraction for their inability to erupt into the arch in their correct position. All these states have unambiguously poor prognosis, that require tooth extraction. Therefore this should not be of ethical concern. Full mouth plaque score lesser than 20 percent after phase I therapy. Full mouth bleeding score lesser than 20 percent after phase I therapy. Patients who are systemically healthy; with no disease that will have a bearing on the outcome of the surgical intervention.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with malalignment at the defect site. Patients with systemic disease or drugs that contraindicates periodontal surgery. Patients with history of smoking and pan chewing. Sites with advanced furcation involvement. Pregnant and lactating women.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate and compare the levels of CEMP-1 bio marker in the GCF between control and test groupsTimepoint: 4th, 7th and 21st day

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate and compare the Radiographic bone fill, Probing pocket depth reduction, Clinical attachment level gain, Position of gingival crest, to correlation between clinical and the biochemical parametersTimepoint: baseline and 6 months
