Health Condition 1: O- Medical and Surgical

Interventions

Intervention1: Video: Pre-operative educational video of approximately 8 minutes duration will be shown to intervention group night before the surgery. The total duration of intervention is 8 minutes.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American society of anaesthesiologists physical status 1 and 2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a. Patients refusing informed consent. b. Patients who speak language other than Hindi or English c. Emergency surgeries d. Patients with neuropsychiatric disorders/vision disorders e. Any treatment that affects psychological status. f. Patients having a history of smoking or alcohol intake. g. Patients with a history of previous surgery. h. Patients not extubated after surgery. i. Patients with Glasgow Coma Scale less than 15.

Whether preoperative educational video will decrease perioperative anxiety in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy using STAI and Amsterdam anxiety score at defined time pointsTimepoint: - when Patient is admitted to ward - Night before surgery in ward - After extubation when patient regains full consciousness

MeasureTime frame
1) Whether preoperative educational video will decrease the induction dose of propofol in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy. 2) Whether preoperative educational video will have any effects on MAP & HR at defined time pointsTimepoint: - when Patient is admitted to ward - Night before surgery in ward - After extubation when patient regains full consciousness
