Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged 40 - 65 years fulfilling the clinical criteria of knee osteoarthritis defined by American college rheumatology 2. Grade 2 or 3 Kellgren and Lawrence 3. Increased knee pain and stiffness for at last 3 months 4. Pain intensity on Visual Analog Scale more than 4(out of 10)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Diabetes mellitus 2. Pregnancy 3. Rheumatologic or inflammatory diseases involving the knee joint 4. Previous arthroplasty 5. Intra-articular or peri-articular injection in the past three months 6. Body mass index (BMI) more than 35
