Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I - II. 2. Males or females aged 18-60 years. 3. Scheduled to undergo elective surgery under general anaesthesia in supine position with neutral position of neck

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient with pre operative sore throat or upper respiratory tract infection. 2. Patients with history of cardiac, liver or renal disorders. 3. Patient with duration of laryngoscopy > 15 seconds. 4. Patients already taking systemic corticosteroids or furosemide. 5. Known allergy to the test medications
