Intervention1: Curcumin capsules with curcuminoids standardised to 95%: Inlife Pharmas 500mg curcumin capsules will be given for once daily consumption to LESS THAN 10year olds and twice daily consump

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects whose age is 5 to 18 years Patients who have been diagnosed with homozygous beta thalassemia on the basis of severe anaemia and HPLC Patients who receive packed cell RBC transfusions approximately every month. Duration of transfusion should be 6 months or more

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acute illness, comorbidities such as Type 1 Diabetes and/or Sickle cell. Patients taking any health supplements apart from folic acid within the past 3 months
