Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All children aged 0-18 years undergoing elective/emergency surgery under general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, or sedation, including day-care or short admission cases. BMI more than age and gender-based criteria as per WHO growth charts for overweight and obese children.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children undergoing cardiac surgeries Refusal to consent for the study by parents

To assess the incidence of peri-operative adverse events in overweight and obese children in the Indian populationTimepoint: T0 time of induction of anesthesia in OT T1 time of finishing the surgery and anesthesia T2 after 30min in recovery room

1. To study association of other comorbidities 2. Difficulty in intravenous cannulation 3. Difficulty in airway management 4. Difficulty encountered during regional anesthesia 5. Readiness for discharge from Post Anesthesia Care Unit (Modified Aldrete score) 6. Duration of PACU stay 7.
