Intervention1: Sunlight therapy: Dedicated sunlight exposure therapy every alternate day for 1 month beside the routine sunlight exposure Control Intervention1: Standard care of stroke as per guidelin

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) Patient aged 18-80 year b) Both males and females c) Within 4 weeks of onset of stroke (primary hypertensive intracerebral haemorrhage with volume d) NIHSS between 5-15. e) Pre stroke modified Rankin Scale less than 2. f) Patient residing in Delhi/NCR g) Consenting to receive sunlight exposure as per study protocol and to follow-up till 3 months after being enrolled in study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) Past history of stroke b) Patient with Severe stroke (defined as NIHSS > 16 or intracranial haemorrhage volume more than 30 ml in haemorrhagic stroke ) c) Past history of psychiatric, sleep or mood disorders . d) Presence of other neuromusculoskeletal condition that interfered with motor function. e) Cognitive and language function inadequate to participate in study procedures. f) Chronic kidney disease. g) Photosensitivity or Premalignant or malignant skin lesion. h) Pre-existing proven malignancy. i) HIV and other chronic infections. j) Patients who deny consent to be a part of study.

To determine the safety & efficacy of sunlight exposure therapy in improving Stroke Specific Quality of life in post stroke patients.Timepoint: Baseline Day 30 Day 90

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare effect of sunlight exposure on sleep patterns as assessed by Pittsburgh sleep quality index & sleep diary . Timepoint: 3 months;To compare of effect of sunlight exposure on cognition as assessed by Addenbrooke’s cognitive examination- ACE-III. Timepoint: 3 months;To compare the efficacy of sunlight exposure therapy in improving motor function in post stroke patients as determined by modified Rankin scale. Timepoint: 3 months;To compare the efficacy of sunlight exposure therapy in treating / preventing post stroke depression as determined by Hamilton depression rating scale (HAM-D). Timepoint: 3 month;To compare the efficacy of sunlight exposure therapy in treating / preventing post stroke anxiety as determined by Hamilton anxiety rating sale (HAM –A). Timepoint: 3 months;To study effect of sunlight exposure on certain blood biomarkers (hs C reactive protein, Erythrocyte sedimentation rate, serum ferritin, Vitamin D ,Glycated haemoglobin & fasting sugar). Timepoint: 3 months;To study effect of sunlight exposure on blood pressure.Timepoint: 3 months
