Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ASA physical status 1 and 2 to undergo elective surgeries under general anesthesia
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: with known h/o allergy to local anesthetics Oral cavity surgery cervical spine surgery thyroid surgery patients with anticipated difficult airway and prone position surgeries BMI of more than35 patients with h/o recurrent upper respiratory tract infections chronic cough chronic obstructive pulmonary disease gastro esophageal reflux disease pregnant patients surgical duration more than 3 hours
