Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients posted for elective laparoscopic surgeries 2.Age = 18 years. 3.American Society of Anaesthesiologists physical status (ASA- PS) I and II patients.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with pre-existing diabetes mellitus, chronic steroid therapy, pregnancy, hepatorenaldysfunction, immunosuppression 2. Patients with history of allergy to dexamethasone and bupivacaine.

MeasureTime frame
There is no significant effect on random blood sugars in non-diabetic patients receiving bilateral erector spinae block using bupivacaine with dexamethasone undergoing laparoscopic surgeries.Timepoint: Before giving block, 2 6 & 24 hourly after the block.—

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.Decrease in total post-operative analgesia consumption. 2. Incidence of postoperative nausea & vomiting.Timepoint: From the time of giving block to 24 hours of giving block.Intraoperatively every 5 minutes, vitals will be assessed. Postoperatively every 2nd hour, vitals & any events will be assessed.—
