Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.All post traumatic distal femoral fractures involving patients of each sex with age more than 18 years of age reporting to Department of Orthopaedics,PGIMS will be included in the study. 2.Only Muller AO/OTA type A3,C2,C3 type of fractures will be included in present study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pathological fractures 2. Open Fractures Gustillo-Anderson Type 3b,3c.20 3. Muller Type A1,A2,B1,B2,B3 will be excluded from present study 4. Associated intra-articular proximal tibia fractures of ipsilateral limb.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assesment of functional outcome will be done as per Sanders criteriaTimepoint: Assesment of functional outcome will be done as per Sanders criteria at 3 and 6 months.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Complications such as infections,implant failure,osteolysis,bone collapse,skin necrosis,knee stiffness etc shall be assessed.Timepoint: Complications such as infections,implant failure,osteolysis,bone collapse,skin necrosis,knee stiffness etc shall be assessed at 3 months & 6 months.
