Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To study the incidence of sarcopenia as assessed by muscle ultrasound in critically ill adults on mechanical ventilation.Timepoint: To study the incidence of sarcopenia as assessed by muscle ultrasound in critically ill adults on mechanical ventilation between day 0, day 7 and day 14 or discharge

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To correlate changes in muscle mass with ICU days, ventilator days and outcome at dischargeTimepoint: To correlate changes in muscle mass between day 0, day 7 and day 14 or discharge with ICU days, ventilator days and outcome at discharge
