Intervention1: Direct laryngoscopy: Trachea is intubated with direct laryngoscopy using an uncuffed Endotracheal tube.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 1 month–8 years requiring endotracheal intubation for provision of general anesthesia Patient fulfilling the inclusion criteria after the consent of primary care giver.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with finger or airway abnormalities Anticipated difficult airway Use of supraglottic airway devices or cuffed Endotracheal tube. Patient requiring nasal intubation Patient posted for emergency surgical procedures
