Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.ASA physical status I (A normal healthy patient) and II (A patient with mild systemic disease) 2.Patients electively posted for dental procedures under general anaesthesia 3.Children with Frankel’s behavior rating of 1 (Definitely Negative) & 2 (Negative)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Parents/Guardians who refuse to allow participation in the study. 2.Patients with any underlying systemic diseases. 3.Patients allergic to the drugs involved in the study.

MeasureTime frame
1)Transmucosal Dexmedetomidine as a premedication is effective in decreasing sedation, parental separation anxiety, & increasing mask acceptance in comparison to transmucosal Midazolam. 2)Transmucosal Dexmedetomidine has higher efficacy of decreasing postoperative emergence delirium than Midazolam. Timepoint: Immediate postoperatively
