Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA grade 1 or 2 patients, Both male and female patients between 30-80 years of age, Patients posted to undergo any robot-assisted laparoscopic pelvic surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal, Patients with pre-existing glaucoma, history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Patients with raised intracranial pressure, Patients with a history of allergy to dexmedetomidine, Patients with ASA grade 3 and 4

MeasureTime frame
To study the effect of propofol with or without dexmedetomidine on Optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD), by ultrasonographic measurement of both eyes at fixed time points during surgery.Timepoint: ONSD will be measured in both groups : Before induction of anesthesia in pre-operative area, 10 minutes after induction of anaesthesia before pneumoperitoneum in supine position, 1 hour after CO2 pneumoperitoneum in Trendelenburg position, 2 hour after CO2 pneumoperitoneum in Trendelenburg position, 10 min after the desufflation of pneumoperitoneum in supine position, 30 minutes after extubation
