Interventions

Intervention1: Repeated verbal reminders of orientation: Patients in the orientation group would listen to a message pre-recorded by the OR anesthesia technician in a language of the patients’ choice.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA PS I-III dorsolumbar spine surgeries under general anaesthesia in prone position

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) Refusal to participate b) History of delirium/antipsychotic drug use/substance abuse c) Prior CVA/neurological illness/TBI/cognitive impairment/hearing loss Surgical duration < 1 hours
