Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient scheduled for elective and emergency lumbar spine surgery Patients between age 18-60 years of age Patients under ASA PS I and II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal to enroll for the study Patient with the renal impairment

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1.To assess pain relief in the first 24h as measured by NRS in both groups. 2.Time for rescue analgesia in both groups. 3.Cumulative morphine consumption in the first 24h of the postoperative period in both groups.Timepoint: 24hours

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.To find out any side effects during block or post-block in both groups. 2.Patient satisfaction with postoperative analgesia at the end of 24 h in both groups. Timepoint: 24hours
