Interventions

Intervention1: Intralesional Bleomycin injection for keloids.: Intralesional bleomycin 15 units diluted with 10 ml normal saline(0.2ml/cm2, maximum volume per session 3.5 ml) will be given at 4 weekly

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with clinically diagnosed keloid present on trunk, aged above 18 years and willing for regular follow-up.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Active inflammation, infection or ulcer in or around the keloid. Patients who received treatment for the same keloid in the past six months Pregnancy, lactation, chronic renal failure, bleeding tendencies. Those who develop a hypersensitive or an idiosyncratic reaction to bleomycin.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Decrease in the height, vascularity, pliability and pigmentation of keloid assessed using Vancouver Scar Scale.Timepoint: Keloid assessed at the time of diagnosis, and followed up every 4 weeks.

Reduction in pruritis & painTimepoint: At the time of diagnosis & followed up every 4 weeks
