Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria : 1) American socity of Anaesthesiolgist classification grade 1 and 2. 2)Eective surgery under general anaesthesia with endotracheal intubation not lasting for more than 3 hours. A thorough pre anaesthetic evaluation will be done oery, nil per mouth status will be confirmed, and intravenous cannula will be secured. For all the patients, aspiration prophylaxis of IV Inj. Pantoprazole 40mg, and IV Inj. Ondansetron 8mg will be given. After shifting the patient to operation theatre, in all patients, pre medication of IV Inj. Glycopyrolate .005mg/kg, IV Inj. Midazolam .05mg/kg and IV Inj. Fentanyl 2mcg/kg. General anaesthesia will be induced with IV Inj. Propofol 2mg/kg with IV Inj. Succinylcholine 2mg/kg. Endotracheal cuff will be lubricated with Budesonide 200mcg spray in one group, and water based KY gel 82gm in another group. Intubation will be done. Anaesthesia will be maintained with titrated dose of Isoflurane, oxygen, and nitrous oxide. IV bolus of Inj. Vecuronium .1mg/kg or Inj. Atracurium .5mg/kg will be repeated intermittentanly to maintain muscle relaxation. After adequate reversal at the end of surgery, thourough oropharyngeal suctioning, and regaining of consciousness, patient will be extubated, following which patient will be shifted to Post Anaesthtic Care Unit where post operative sore throat will be graded in the time intervals of immediately, 10 mins, 1st hour, 6th hour, and 24th hour after extubation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)pre operative sore throat. 2)patients already pn a analgesic or steriods. 3)peptic ulcer and gastroesophageal reflux disease 4)Chronic lung disease. 5)Allergic to study drug
