Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18-60 years, who were hemodynamically unstable (shock), and who needed a fluid challenge (according to the clinical assessment).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Age 60 yrs 2. Patients with heart failure 3. Abdominal hypertension 4. Pregnant females

The objective of this study is to find a correlation between internal jugular vein (IJV) and common carotid artery (CCA) diameter ratio and stroke volume variation (SVV) measurement and find a cut-off value for the IJV/CCA ratio for estimating the volume status in critically ill patients.Timepoint: On admission (Baseline), After Fluid bolus (15 min), After Blood pressure Stabilization
