Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients from 18-60 years of age of either gender American Society of Anesthesiologists Grade I and II patients Patients posted for elective surgery under general anaesthesia with endotracheal intubation
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with anticipated difficult intubation Those requiring more than 15 seconds for intubation or more than one attempt at laryngoscopy Patients allergic to dexmedetomidine Patients on medications that affect heart rate Pregnant patients Patients undergoing emergency surgeries
