Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA)category 1 and 2 patients scheduled for elective surgeries under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Anticipated difficult airway, expected duration of surgery greater than 4 hours

Correlation between depth of anaesthesia & perfusion index under general anaesthesiaTimepoint: baseline (initial data on pulse oximeter attachment)-just before start of anesthesia preinduction- at 3 minutes after giving oxygen and start anesthesia induction airway manipulation-immediately prior to Direct laryngoscopy for intubation Post intubation – 1st , 3rd and 5th minute start of procedure- at incison end of surgery cessation of anesthesia-last dose of all anesthetic agents emergence-when patients opened eyes, or responded to voice or touch
