Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy children with Frankel’s behavior rating score II or III. Children within the age group of 6-10 years. Occlusal carious lesions on the maxillary and/or mandibular either first or second primary molars. Radiograph showing extend of caries into dentin.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children with special health care needs. Parents declining the consent. Children with Frankel’s behavior rating score of I or IV. Molars with clinical or radiological signs and symptoms of pulpal, periodontal, and soft tissue pathology. Non-vital teeth.

The primary objective of the study will be to compare the effectiveness between caries removal by using carbide burs, smart burs & ultrasonic tips with respect to time consumption and pain perception in pediatric dental patients.Timepoint: Baseline 4-weeks and 8 weeks
