Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of physical status I and II according to American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) who are without comorbidities ,scheduled for elective middle ear surgery under general anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with severe obesity (body mass index greater than 35), renal insufficiency (serum creatinine more than 1.6 mg/dl), liver dysfunction (serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase/ serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase values more than 50% of normal), patients with difficult airways, cardiorespiratory abnormalities (Diabetes, Hypertension, New York Heart Association heart failure grades 3 and 4, obstructive and restrictive lung diseases), , pregnant, currently breast feeding women, history of sleep apnea planned / emergency surgeries in neck and oral cavity.
