Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All preterm neonates admitted to NICU during the study period who are 1. Mechanical ventilated within 48 hours of life, for respiratory distress 2. Receive a trial of extubation 3. Admitted in NICU for minimum period of 48 hours after extubation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Major congenital malformation 2. Upper airway obstruction 3. Mechanically ventilated for non-respiratory aetiology

To determine the association of pre-extubation lung ultrasound score with need of re-intubation within timeframe of 12 hours, 12 hours to 24 hours or 24 hours to 48 hours, post extubation.Timepoint: Whenever baby requires re-intubation;2. To determine the correlation of pre-extubation lung ultrasound score with duration of respiratory support after successful extubationTimepoint: Till baby does not require any respiratory support
