Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients with high voltage electrical burns ( > 500 volts). 2) Total body surface area involvement >10%

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patient refusal or no informed consent or both 2)Pre-existing kidney disease 3)BMI 30kg/m2 4)Duration between injury and admission time > 24 hours 5) Presence of head injury 6) Diabetes mellitus 7) Patients requiring intubation and mechanical ventilation prior to recruitment
