Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aged 18-80 years ASA status 1 and 2 Non diabetic patients FBS less than 126mg/dl surgery lasting for not more than 3 hours elective surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Diabetic patients and altered glucose tolerance test pregnant patients Allergic to dexamethasone Refusal of consent Patients on steroid therapy and immunosuppressant therapy Any intraoperative adverse events
