Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Pristine periodontal health: 1 No bleeding on probing 2 Normal gingival sulcus depth 3 Normal bone heights 4 Controlled modifying factors Clinical periodontal health (intact periodontium): 1 No or minimal bleeding on probing 2 Normal gingival sulcus depth 3 Normal bone heights 4 Controlled modifying factors 5 Controlled predisposing factors Stage III periodontitis: 1 Interdental clinical attachment loss at site of greatest loss greater than or equal to 5mm 2 Radiographic bone loss extending to middle or apical third of root 3 Tooth loss due to periodontitis less than or equal to 4 teeth 4 Probing depth greater than or equal to 6mm. 5 Extent: Greater than 30 percentage of teeth involved (Generalized) Stage IV periodontitis: 1 Interdental clinical attachment loss at site of greatest loss greater than or equal to 5mm 2 Radiographic bone loss extending to middle or apical third of root 3 Tooth loss due to periodontitis greater than or equal to 5 teeth 4 Extent: Greater than 30 percentage of teeth involved (Generalized) Inclusion criteria for obesity: According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC): BMI evaluation will be done by measuring the weight (in kgs) and height (in cms) to determine the body size. With the metric system, the formula for BMI is weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. 30.0 to less than 35.0-Class 1 obesity 35.0 to less than 40.0-Class 2 obesity 40.0 or over-Class 3 obesity ( also known as morbid, extreme, or severely obese)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1 Patients with other systemic inflammatory conditions like diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, chronic respiratory infections, cancers, asthma, HIV and hepatitis will be excluded from the study 2 History of periodontal treatment within the previous 6 months 3 Smoking and alcohol consumption 4 Pregnant and lactating women 5 History of antibiotic therapy in the past 3 months
