Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Any one of the clinical features of rickets enlargement of wrists and ankles, valgus or varus deformities of the knees, bowing of tibia and femur, Harrison groove, Rachitic rosary. Biochemical features of rickets Serum 25-OH Vitamin D S.ALP > 500 IU/L Radiological Features of rickets Xray wrist and knee with Grade 2 or 3 changes according to the rickets severity score. Widening of growth plate Cupping/Splaying/Fraying of metaphysis Generalized osteopenia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children already on treatment for rickets History of renal or hepatic diseases History of gastrointestinal pathologies including malabsorption Children on any other medications including anti epileptics. Any congenital or bony deformities. Children with weight for age <2SD for age.
