Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Guillean bare syndrome (GBS) patients requiring mechanical ventilation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with trauma to lower limb 2. Unable to get ultrasound image 3. Refusal to give consent 4. Pregnancy

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the changes in muscle mass of lowerlimb using ultrasound in patients with Guillean bare syndrome requiring mechanical ventilation.Timepoint: Day 3, 7,14 or discharge

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To calculate the atrophy rate To correlate changes in muscle mass with MRC grade, ICU days, ventilator days & outcome at discharge Timepoint: Percentage change from baseline to day 3, day 7, & day 14 or discharge from ICU
