Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Phase I: For older adults- Inclusion criteria: Older adults aged 60 years and above who speak English or Kannada. Older adults must have at least one family member as a caregiver living with them or nearby and should be able to ambulate with and without physical assistance. For family members- Inclusion criteria: Family members should speak English or Kannada and must be 18 years and above. The older adult will identify family members post-interview. Older adults will be asked to identify family members familiar with their daily routines and who provide physical, financial, emotional or social support. Individuals who provide consent to participate and qualify the above criteria will be recruited among the family members. Phase II: Healthcare Professionals: Inclusion criteria: To be eligible, healthcare professionals should speak English and have at least one year of work experience with older clients, including fall prevention. Healthcare professionals include occupational therapists, physiotherapists, pharmacists and optometrists.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Phase I: Exclusion criteria for older adults: older adults living in old age homes and long-term institutions will be excluded from the study. Older adults with poor comprehension, hearing, and psychiatric conditions and physically bound (bedridden) as reported by self or observed by the researcher will be excluded. Exclusion criteria for family members: Family members with poor comprehension, hearing, and psychiatric conditions and physically bound (bedridden) as reported by self or observed by the researcher will be excluded.
