Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.For case group- Patients of Indian origin presenting with onset of graying before the age of 25 years with at least minimum of 5 gray hair fibers. 2.For control group- The age and gender matched healthy patients of Indian origin below 25 years of age without premature graying of hair attending to the Dermatology outpatient department for benign conditions.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Cases with graying of hair as a part of other conditions such as 1.Vitiligo, syndromes such as Waardenburg and progeria, cutaneous disease of the scalp. 2.Cases who had cosmetic procedures on their hair in the past 6 months. 3.Subjects who were smokers 4.Pregnant and lactating women 5.Subjects taking multivitamin supplements 6.Subjects taking systemic medications 7.Subjects who had systematic illness in the past
