Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Paediatric patients of 8-17years age belonging to ASA-1 and ASA-2 of either gender undergoing elective surgical procedures requiring anaesthesia with no prior peripheral IV access.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Undergoing emergency surgery, syndromic children, decreased level of consciousness, intellectual disabilities, adverse allergic reactions to lidocaine or prilocaine, pre-existing sensory/motor deficits in the limb to be cannulated, burns, local infection, skin lesions, broken skin.
