Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Individuals giving a history of smoking for more than 6 months. 2. Subjects who are willing to quit and give informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Individuals with systemic disorders 2. Individuals with previous history of illegitimate drug abuse in the past 12 months

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the nicotine dependence levels tobacco users of Visakhapatnam. Outcome is assessed based on nicotine dependence levels using Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependency.Timepoint: Outcome assessment will be done at baseline

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the effectiveness of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy against Basic Health Education in tobacco cessation among tobacco users of Visakhapatnam. Outcome is assessed based on nicotine dependence levels using Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependency.Timepoint: Outcome assessment will be done at 4 weeks,12 weeks & 24 weeks.
