Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus of more than 40 years of age. 2. Duration of Diabetes more than 4 years. 3. The control group consists of non diabetics more than 40 years, who are normotensive, who donot have concomittant diseases or other conditions or use drugs that affect lipid levels .

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Type -2 diabetes patients with concomittant diseases or condition affecting the lipid levels like hypothyrodism, hyperthyroidism, on lipostatic drugs, thiazides etc. 2. Age below 40 years.
