Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients aged between 18 to 45 years and undergoing elective off pump cardiothoracic surgeries under general anaesthesia who belongs to ASA PS I and II will be included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with obesity(BMI >30) 2.Patients with history of gastroesophageal reflux disease 3.Preoperatively in high inotropic support 4.Anticipated difficult intubation 5.Patients with life-threatening arrhythmias or on intra-aortic balloon pump 6.Unstable angina pectoris with poor left ventricular function i.e;ejection fraction <35% will be excluded from the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the mean change in systolic Blood pressure while securing upper airway using blockbuster LMA & endotracheal tubeTimepoint: The monitoring will be done before induction of anaesthesia, at 0min 1min 2min 3min 4min 5min & afterwards every 30mints till closure and shifting to ICU

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The following things will be compared when using blockbuster LMA versus ET tube 1.The ventilation parameters in terms of peak airway pressure, minute ventilation, end tidal CO2 & tidal volume 2.The time taken to achieve effective airway 3.Determine the occurrence of pharyngo-laryngeal complications 4.The no: of attempts in intubation 5.The ease of insertionTimepoint: The monitoring will be done before induction of anaesthesia, at 0min 1min 2min 3min 4min 5min & afterwards every 30mints till closure & shifting to ICU
