Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Pediatric cardiac surgical patients aged less than 6 years with Congenital heart disease. 2.Pediatric surgical patients aged less than 6 years without Congenital heart disease

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Neonates, Emergency surgery,redo surgery,Patient in shock,sepsis or DIC, Patient in congestive heart failure, Renal dysfunction,severe liver disease,Condition affecting basal metabolic rate i.e, febrile illness,hypothyroidism,hyperthyroidism,pheochromocytoma, Patient on mechanical ventilation,Patient with ventricular dysfunction,Patient with valvular and obstructive lesions,Patient with increased Intra cranial tension and increased intra occular tension

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare induction time of intravenous anesthesia using ketamine, as determined by the time taken for loss of eyelash reflex & onset of nystagmus in patients with & without congenital heart disease. Timepoint: At the time of onset of nystagmus and at the time of loss of eyelash reflex

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To observe corresponding BIS values during induction of anesthesia with ketamine in patients with congenital heart disease. Timepoint: At Baseline,at the time of onset of nystagmus & at the time of loss of eye reflex
