Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing Head and Neck surgeries under General Anaesthesia 1) 18yr - 60yr 2) ASA PS class 1-3

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with history of chronic pain 2) Known history of hypersensitivity to vitamin C 3) Psychiatry patients 4) Those who cannot understand and respond to pain assessment 5) Patients on mechanical ventilation or not extubated

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess analgesic sparing effect of intravenous vitamin C & its effect on decreasing consumption of opioids & NSAIDs To compare the intensity of pain among patients receiving vitamin C & placeboTimepoint: 15min, 30min, 1h, 4h, 8h, 12h, 24h

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare two groups in terms of 1. Pain intensity. 2. Patient satisfaction for pain management. 3. Amount of analgesic used in first 24 h of postoperative period. 4. Side effects of analgesics used.Timepoint: 15min, 30min, 1h, 4h, 8h, 12h, 24h postoperative period
