Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients under the category of ASA I (American Society of Anaesthesiologist) posted for elective surgery under subarachnoid block in lateral decubitus position.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient refusal 2. Anticipated positioning difficulties 3. Audio-visual challenged patients

To compare visual & verbal methods in positioning for Spinal anaesthesia (also called SAB) based on successful needle insertion which is calculated byTimepoint: Time taken for the SAB, that is from the time of positioning instructions delivered to the time the spinal drug is injected (around 60sec).—

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare visual & verbal methods in positioning for SAB based on successful needle insertion which is calculated by 3. Number of skin punctures. 4. Number of people required to achieve successful SAB. 5. Satisfaction score of performing anesthetist assessed on a numerical scale.Timepoint: Time after achieving the position till a successful block is administered ( 3 mins after completion of the block).—
