Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA Physical Status I & II Surgical procedure duration >1 hour

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with history of convulsive disorder, concurrent use of sedative medication, beta blockers or an anti arrhythmic drug; severely depressed cardiac function; hepatic or renal disease. Patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Obesity( >35kg/m2) Patients with neurological disorders and recent use of psychotropic drugs or opioids preoperatively

Total Desflurane consumptionTimepoint: Calculated at the end of surgery.

Recovery time Timepoint: Time between turning off vaporizer & eye opening.;Incidence of explicit recall of intraoperative events.Timepoint: When patient reaches Post Anaesthesia Care Unit(PACU), 24-hours post operatively & at the time of discharge.;Incidence of postoperative delirium (POD).Timepoint: Preoperatively, 24 hours & 3 days postoperatively.
