Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients undergoing elective laparoscopic surgery (laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic hernia repair) duration of one and half to two hours under General anaesthesia. 2.Age 18 - 65 years of either gender. 3.BMI less than 30kg/m2 4.Patients with ASA physical status I-II. 5.Patient belonging to Mallampatti grading I-II on airway assessment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Inability or refusal to follow the study protocol. 2. Patient with uncontrolled medical conditions like hypertension, diabetes mellitus, renal failure., etc 3.Patient with cardiac, renal, respiratory disorders. 4. Patients with hypotension and shock. 5.Patient having neuro psychiatric disorders, H/o drug abuse

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare post-operative recovery profile using Fast Track Criteria(FTC)Timepoint: FTC monitored at the time of extubation & for every 10 mins until one hour of post extubation followed by 4 hours of extubation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.To monitor & maintain BIS between the values 40-60 by titrating concentration of Desflurane and Sevoflurane 2.To monitor and maintain EtCO2 in the range of (25-35mmHg) 3.To Monitor intraoperative hemodynamic stability by monitoring systolic blood pressure (SBP), Diastolic blood pressure (DBP), Mean arterial pressure (MAP), Pulse rate (PR), Peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) and maintain them within 20% of baseline value 4.To calculate the requirement of incremental dose of fentanyl 5.To observe side effects and complications following General anaesthesia and treat it accordingly Timepoint: intra operative hemodynamics,ETCO2 monitored every 15 mins .BIS value monitored through out the procedure & inhalational want to titrate according to BIS value and also want to monitor at the time of extubation.
