Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: With a diagnosis of sepsis acute change in total SOFA score =2 points consequent to the infection according to Sepsis 3 definition and septic shock- defined as sepsis with persisting hypotension requiring vasopressors to maintain a MAP = 65 mmHg and having a serum lactate level > 2 mmol/L despite adequate volume resuscitation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 New Onset ACS within 1 Week 2 Diagnosed heart failure, severe valvular heart disease such as severe mitral or aortic stenosis or tricuspid stenosis or regurgitation/prosthetic heart valves 3 Chronic pulmonary disease requiring long-term oxygen therapy, Known case of moderate to severe Pulmonary hypertension/ corpulmonale 4 Pregnancy 5 inadequate echocardiographic window

MeasureTime frame
To determine the ability of the 5- parameter Right Ventricular Dysfunction Score (RVD) score in predicting 28- day all-cause mortality among septic patients.Timepoint: Baseline, 48hrs- RVD Score 28day mortality

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1To establish relationship between RVD Score and: a Mechanical Ventilation duration b. Vasopressor free days c. Need for Renal Replacement Therapy d. ICU length of stay 2. To compare RVD score & Tricuspid Annular Plane Systolic Excursion/Pulmonary Artery Systolic Pressure ratio in predicting 28-day all-cause mortality among patients with sepsis & septic shock. Timepoint: 28 days
