Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All malignancies (solid tumours) confirmed on histopathology 2. Patients more than 18 years of age 3. Patients of either sex

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who have comorbid inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus 2. Patients who are on statins, fibrates, disease modifying anti rheumatic drugs and anti- tumour necrosis factor agents 3. Crystal-induced arthritis and septic arthritis 4. Tobacco abuse 5. Recent burn injury (less than two weeks before enrolment) 6. Active pancreatitis 7. Obesity (BMI >30) 8. Non consenting patients.

To quantify & measure the level of CRP : Albumin, N : L ratios & PPI.Timepoint: At baseline that is at the time of admission under palliative medicine or time of first contact when reference sought from palliative medicine.
